Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 12 is freshman pitcher Nick Janowicz. The right-hander made another strong start for the Lasers last Friday. He didn't get a decision, but Janowicz threw six scoreless innings, giving up just five hits and had eight strikeouts in Irvine Valley's 4-0 win at West LA in 10 innings.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 5 is men's basketball player Jake Linsky. The 6-7 freshman forward had a team-high 16 points and 14 rebounds to help Irvine Valley beat Copper Mountain, 78-61, last Friday at home. Linsky was 6 of 12 from the field, 2 of 3 from 3-point range and also added three blocks.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Jan. 29 is women's basketball player Kasey Smit. She is earning the honor for the second straight week and third time this season. Smit had another impressive week, scoring 57 points and grabbing 43 rebounds in a pair of Orange Empire Conference wins for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Jan. 22 is women's basketball player Kasey Smit. This is her second athlete of the week honor for IVC this season. Smit scored 60 points, including a career-high 34 points against Cypress, to help the Lasers to two more wins last week.

Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Jan. 8 is women's basketball player Lexi Vail. The freshman guard helped the Lasers win two more games last week and start the Orange Empire Conference part of their schedule 2-0. She is a big reason why Irvine Valley is currently ranked No. 9 in the state.

The freshman guard hit two clutch free throws to help lift IVC over Long Beach City in a tourney game at Saddleback on Saturday and then scored 20 points against MiraCosta on Sunday to bring the Lasers the consolation title.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Dec. 11 is women's basketball player Elizabeth Garcia. Garcia was named to the all-tournament team after helping the Lasers beat Long Beach City, 66-64, on Saturday in the championship game of the Irvine Valley Tournament. The sophomore had nine points, six rebounds, five assists and one steal in the title game.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 27 is women's volleyball player Megan Ramseyer. The sophomore setter led Irvine Valley to two So. Cal. Regional playoff victories, including beating Grossmont in three sets on Saturday night at home to earn the Lasers a trip to this weekend's CCCAA State Championship.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 20 is men's basketball player Daniel Hernandez. The sophomore guard was named all-tournament for the Lasers on Saturday in their own Irvine Valley Classic after recording 11 points and five assists with no turnovers in a 77-58 win over American River.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Nov. 13 is women's basketball player Kasey Smit. Smit, a sophomore forward, helped Irvine Valley take third place in the Pasadena City College President's Roundball Classic last week. She was named all-tournament after IVC went 2-1 in the event.

Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Oct. 30 is women's golfer Vera Yuan. Yuan was IVC's low scorer in the team's match at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course last Wednesday with an 84.

Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Oct. 23 is sophomore women's volleyball player Gabi Lau. Lau, IVC's starting libero, had back-to-back 10-dig performances in two more sweeps for the Lasers. Irvine Valley stayed unbeaten and is ranked No. 1 in the state.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Oct. 16 is freshman men's soccer player Braden Peters. Peters made the save of the year for the Lasers in their 1-0 win over Golden West in a key Orange Empire Conference match at home last Tuesday. The win kept IVC alive and in the continued hunt for a conference title.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Oct. 9 is freshman women's soccer player Savanna Hayes. Hayes, a defender, helped the Lasers to two straight wins in Orange Empire Conference play. And both victories were shutouts. IVC beat Golden West, 1-0, on Tuesday and defeated Norco, 4-0, on Friday.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Oct. 2 is freshman women's golfer Kylie Sok. She helped the Lasers finish fifth out of 16 teams at the two-day North South Invitational that ended last Monday. Sok earned all-tournament honors after placing sixth individually with a two-day score of 160 at Morro Bay.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Sept. 25 is men's soccer player Juan Sebastian Oliveras. The freshman defender came through with two important goals, including a nifty one in the 84th minute to salvage a result for the Lasers last Friday at home. IVC tied Orange Coast, 2-2, in an OEC contest.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Sept. 18 is freshman women's soccer player Jade Stewart. The striker had an impressive week with three goals in two matches, including the goal in IVC's important 1-1 tie with Santiago Canyon last Tuesday in the Orange Empire Conference opener.

The outside hitter, who plays all around the court, had quite a week with 38 total kills, leading the Lasers to two more wins, including a sweep at Long Beach City last Friday, and a 5-0 record overall.

Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Apr. 24 is sophomore men's tennis player Javier Callejo. Callejo won both his singles and doubles matches on Saturday in the Southern California Regional Final against Cypress to help IVC advance its fourth straight CCCAA State Championship. Irvine Valley plays American River for the state title on Wednesday.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for April 17 is freshman men's volleyball player Patrick Furlong. Furlong, an outside hitter, had a season-high 24 kills to help lead Irvine Valley to a key four-set win over Fullerton in an Orange Empire Conference match last Friday at home. IVC clinched second place in the OEC standings and the No. 2 seed in the playoffs with the win.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for April 10 is women's tennis player Lorna Morris. The freshman helped Irvine Valley clinch a share of the Orange Empire Conference tennis title, which was the second one in program history, last week. Morris won both her singles and doubles matches against Riverside as the Lasers, who are ranked No. 1 in Southern California, beat the Tigers, 6-3.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for April 3 is baseball player Ryan Rafferty. The freshman third baseman was key in IVC winning two of three Orange Empire Conference games against Saddleback last week. He was 5 of 10 at the plate in the last two games with three doubles and one RBI and scored what proved to be the winning run in the 12th inning last Saturday.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for March 27 is men's tennis player Wyatt DeMulling. IVC, which is ranked No. 1 in the state, defeated NCAA Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater, 7-2, in its lone match last week. DeMulling, a freshman from Washington, defeated Zane Navratil, 6-4, 6-2, on the No. 1 court, and then teamed with Chris Politiek, 8-0, to win at No. 2 doubles.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Mar. 20 is men's volleyball player Austin McBain. The freshman setter helped lead Irvine Valley to two more wins last week. He finished with 40 assists in IVC's four-set win over El Camino and then had 38 assists as the Lasers swept Santiago Canyon in conference play.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for March 13 is baseball player John Stevens. The sophomore helped No. 12 Irvine Valley take two of three games in its Orange Empire Conference opening series against No. 11 Fullerton last week. Stevens picked up a save on Tuesday and a win in the series decider on Saturday at home.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for March 6 is men's volleyball player Matt August. The freshman middle blocker had 11 kills in straight-set wins over both Miramar and San Diego Mesa last week. He has helped lead the Lasers to the top spot in the state poll and he currently leads the state in hitting percentage.
Irvine Valley's athlete of the week for Feb. 27 is sophomore baseball player Tyler Odekirk. The shortstop went 10 for 15 at the plate with two triples and five RBI as Irvine Valley, ranked No. 12 in So. Cal., won three of four games and improved its record to 11-5 on the year.
