Tyler Rios is entering his third season as an assistant coach at Irvine Valley, bringing a wealth of experience both as a player and coach at the collegiate level.

He currently works with the infielders, focusing on player development and fundamental execution.

A native of Southern California, Rios began his collegiate playing career at Orange Coast College in 2015 under the legendary Coach John Altobelli, where he helped the Pirates to a California Community College State Championship.

He continued his playing career in 2016 at College of the Canyons, before finishing at Bethesda University.

During his time at Bethesda, he amassed 225 plate appearances with a .240 batting average while maintaining an impressive .992 fielding percentage.

After playing, Rios transitioned into coaching, spending three seasons on staff at his alma mater, Bethesda University.

He then joined the coaching staff at Irvine Valley, where he has continued to make a strong impact on the development of the infield unit and overall team culture.

With more than six years of college coaching experience, coach Rios is passionate about helping student-athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field, guiding them through the next stages of their baseball and academic careers.
