One of our newest assistant coaches for the Irvine Valley men's basketball team, Daniel Hernandez, is a highly accomplished basketball player, recognized for his exceptional talent and work ethic on and off the court.
A former Irvine Valley standout on and off of the court, Hernandez was a men's scholar athlete of the year award winner during the 2017-18 season.
On the court, he was named Orange Empire Conference second team, solidifying his status as one of the league’s top players.
As the Irvine Valley men's baskietball team's MVP for the 2017-2018 season, Hernandez demonstrated his leadership and scoring ability, averaging 11.7 points per game.
He delivered a career-high 28 points in one game, showcasing his offensive prowess.
Over the course of the season, Hernandez made 58 three-pointers, further cementing his reputation as a dynamic and reliable scorer.
After an outstanding season, Hernandez continued his basketball career at California State San Marcos.
His accomplishments highlight not only his basketball skills but also his dedication to excelling both in the classroom and on the court. U
pon receiving his Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, Daniel continued his education at the University of Redlands.
He received his Master’s degree in College Counseling, with hopes of helping student athletes progress in their athletic and academic journeys.
IVC is pleased to welcome him to the staff and program as a great resource for student athletes to learn from and grow.
