Baseball player Seth Bougher headed to Kansas Wesleyan
August 20, 2023Irvine Valley sophomore left-handed pitcher Seth Bougher has signed with NAIA Kansas Wesleyan University. The Coyotes finished with a record of 44-15 last season and went 27-3 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Standout shortstop Nick Madole signs with Biola University
August 15, 2023Irvine Valley baseball player Nick Madole is off to NCAA Division II Biola University. Madole was named second team all-Orange Empire Conference in 2023 for the Lasers after batting .279 overall, including .308 in conference.

Baseball player Noah Madole headed to Vanguard University
August 14, 2023Irvine Valley sophomore outfielder Noah Madole has signed with NAIA Vanguard University. He batted .295 during the 2022 season and followed that up with a .269 average this past year. Vanguard had a record of 33-16 last year.

Ace starting pitcher Sammy Murphy signs with San Marcos
August 11, 2023A two-year starter on the mound and an ace for Irvine Valley, Sammy Murphy has signed with NCAA Division II Cal State San Marcos. Murphy had 111 strikeouts and threw 148.1 innings over the last two seasons for the Lasers.

Second baseman Nolan Cusey signs with Johnson in Tennessee
August 09, 2023Irvine Valley standout baseball player Nolan Cusey is headed to Johnson University in Tennessee. Cusey started at second base the last two years at IVC and batted .272 in 2023 with 35 RBI over the last two seasons for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley's 2022-23 scholar team of the year is baseball
August 07, 2023The IVC baseball team shined in the classroom over the 2023 season. The Lasers had 27 players named scholar athletes with at least a 3.0 GPA, and had three players (Kevin James, Eric Van Allen and Wyatt Zadoorian) with 4.0's.

Sophomore first baseman Casey Kudell signs with Chaminade
July 23, 2023Irvine Valley sophomore baseball player Casey Kudell is headed to NCAA Division II Chaminade University in Hawaii. Kudell, a first baseman, has been an all-Orange Empire Conference performer in his time with the Lasers.

Standout reliever Wyatt Zadoorian headed to Occidental
July 16, 2023Irvine Valley freshman pitcher Wyatt Zadoorian has committed to NCAA Division III Occidental. Zadoorian, out of Beckman High, shined for the Lasers this past season. He finished with a 4.98 ERA on the year out of the pen at IVC.

Alumni Report: Dobson has another solid season at Chico State
July 12, 2023Former Irvine Valley standout Kyle Dobson shines again at Chico State. The junior outfielder batted .298 with a .421 on base percentage. He was named second team all-West Region for the Wildcats after the 2022 campaign.

Baseball player Drew Porter signs with Cal State Los Angeles
July 11, 2023Irvine Valley starting left fielder Drew Porter is off to NCAA Division II Cal State Los Angeles. Porter, who arrived at IVC from Cal State Northridge, played in 39 games and hit .254 with four home runs and 21 RBI for IVC this year.

Standout relief pitcher Nate Skorheim signs with Chico State
July 09, 2023Irvine Valley sophomore baseball player Nate Skorheim has signed with NCAA Division II Chico State. The reliever finished this spring with a record of 1-0 with three saves and a 3.67 ERA in 15 appearances for the Lasers.

June 11, 2023Former Irvine Valley standout pitcher Nate Madole was a key piece of the staff at Vanguard University. The NAIA Lions finished with a record of 35-18 overall and 15-9 in conference. Madole had a record of 4-1 with five saves.

June 07, 2023Former Irvine Valley pitcher Jeremy Wiegman was part of the NCAA Division I Campbell team that reached the final of the Columbia Regional. Wiegman, an all-OEC player at IVC, made 17 appearances for the Fighting Camels in 2023.

June 06, 2023Former Irvine Valley standout shortstop and pitcher Robbie Haw captured an NAIA World Series title with Westmont last weekend. The senior team captain helped the Warriors to a 7-6 victory over host Lewis-Clark State.

Alumni Report: Collin Villegas named first team all-Big West
June 05, 2023Former Irvine Valley standout catcher Collin Villegas was recently named first team all-Big West Conference after hitting 13 home runs for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2023. He also hit .268 with 17 doubles and 41 RBI on the year.

May 25, 2023Former Irvine Valley star left fielder Jack Haggerty batted .339 with 11 stolen bases, 27 runs, 29 RBI and a .443 on base percentage for the University of Texas Permian Basin this season. He finished with 10 multi-hit games.

May 20, 2023Former Irvine Valley star shortstop Robbie Haw has helped lead the Westmont baseball team to the Avista NAIA World Series in Idaho for the second year in a row. The Warriors will enter the event with a record of 43-8 overall.

May 15, 2023Former Irvine Valley baseball player Hank Schineller put up huge numbers for Georgetown College in 2023. He finished with 17 home runs and hit .402 on the year with a .452 on base percentage and .757 slugging percentage.

Alumni Report: Lapolla earns Mid-South all-academic honors
May 11, 2023Former Irvine Valley centerfielder Joey Lapolla was one of 17 Georgetown College baseball players named Mid-South Conference all-academic. Lapolla played in 40 games for the Tigers, who ended with a 29-22 overall record.

May 10, 2023Former Irvine Valley baseball player Dane Nakatsuka had quite a senior year at NAIA Vanguard University. He batted .347 with 61 hits, 38 runs, six doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 31 RBI in being named all-conference.

April 27, 2023Irvine Valley scores eight runs in the bottom of the second inning to take control and goes on to a 10-5 win over Golden West in its final home game of the regular season. Drew Porter leads IVC with a home run and three RBI.

Baseball team earns extra-inning victory at Golden West
April 25, 2023Irvine Valley scores two runs in the top of the 10th inning to beat Golden West, 6-4, on the road. Shane Stafford has four hits on the day and Sammy Murphy picks up the win with 1.1 scoreless innings. IVC hosts GWC on Thursday.

April 22, 2023Irvine Valley plays Saddleback close once again, but the Bobcats use a six-run top of the fifth inning to pull away for an 8-4 victory at IVC on Saturday afternoon. Drew Porter and Kevin James each hit home runs for the Lasers.

April 20, 2023Irvine Valley carries a one-run lead into the bottom of the eighth inning only to have Saddleback score a run and then another in the ninth for a 5-4 victory. Kevin James had two hits and two RBI to lead the Lasers on the day.

Mistakes in the field cost baseball team in loss to Harbor
April 05, 2023Irvine Valley split its nonconference series with LA Harbor after a 10-7 loss Wednesday at home. The Lasers made seven errors, which led to seven unearned runs for the Seahawks. IVC is back in action Tuesday at Orange Coast.
