Men's basketball team hosts alumni exhibition Friday night
December 29, 2024Irvine Valley's men's basketball program enjoyed having several former star players back to Hart Gymnasium on Friday night in an exhibition to take on the current 2023-24 Laser squad. It was a fun night for all. -
No. 6 Story of the Year - Legendary IVC coaches/faculty retire
August 20, 2024Irvine Valley's Ted Weatherford, Julie Hanks and Jerry Hernandez retired as coaches and teachers at the end of this past spring and each will be missed. All three were part of the Irvine Valley family for more than 25 years. -

August 05, 2024Irvine Valley two-year starting shooting guard Roman Swizek is headed to NCAA Division II Rogers State University in Oklahoma. Swizek was a star on and off the court for the Lasers this year, racking up numerous awards. -
Basketball player Dominic Sarmiento headed to De La Salle
August 01, 2024Irvine Valley 6-8 frontcourt player Dominic Sarmiento has committed to De La Salle in the Philippines. He played in 15 games for the Lasers in 2023-24. IVC finished with a record of 17-12 overall and a trip to the So. Cal. playoffs. -
Guard David Ogunlade commits to Hastings College in Nebraska
July 28, 2024Irvine Valley starting point guard David Ogunlade is headed to powerhouse NAIA program Hastings College in Nebraska. Ogunlade, who was named IVC's most improved player, helped the Lasers to a 17-12 record in 2023-24. -
Basketball standout Luke Farrington headed to Hawaii Hilo
June 25, 2024Irvine Valley second-team all-Orange Empire Conference player Luke Farrington has committed to NCAA Division II Hawaii Hilo. He was second in the state in three-point shooting last season and helped IVC to the So. Cal. Playoffs. -
IVC's Character Champions are Emily Freeman and Roman Swizek
June 21, 2024Sophomore basketball stars Emily Freeman and Roman Swizek have been named Irvine Valley's female and male Character Champions of the Year for their service, being exceptional student-athletes and their play on the court. -
Alumni Report: Henderson named honorable mention in CCAA
May 16, 2024Former Irvine Valley standout men's basketball player Charlie Henderson was named honorable mention all-CCAA after averaging 12.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.96 blocks per game and shooting 53.1 percent from the field. -
Men's basketball player Josh Azucena to Pensacola Christian
May 07, 2024Irvine Valley sophomore point guard Josh Azucena is headed to Pensacola Christian College in Florida. Azucena played two years for the Lasers and competed in 19 games and started two during the 2022-23 season. -
Basketball player Jesse Stines commits to Alaska Anchorage
May 03, 2024Irvine Valley men's sophomore basketball player Jesse Stines has committed to NCAA Division II University of Alaska Anchorage. Stines was named first team all-Orange Empire Conference and IVC's MVP this past season. -
Men's basketball team hosts end of the 2023-24 season banquet
April 15, 2024Irvine Valley hosted its end of the season banquet for the 2023-24 season. The Lasers finished with a record of 17-12 overall and were 8-8 in the Orange Empire Conference. IVC also made the 3C2A So. Cal. Regional Playoffs. -
