  • Men's soccer player Cesar Ortiz suiting up for Hope International

    Cesar Ortiz, who was a two-year starter on defense for the Irvine Valley men's soccer team, is now playing at Hope International. Ortiz helped IVC win an Orange Empire Conference title and be ranked fifth in the state last year.

    The Irvine Valley men's soccer team won the fourth OEC title in program history, made the So. Cal. Regional final, was ranked ninth in the nation and fifth in the state and saw coach Martin McGrogan pick up his 300th win at IVC.

    Women's volleyball and beach volleyball player Kayla Scheevel and men's soccer player Toby Waterman were named Irvine Valley's athletes of the year for 2015-16 at an end of the year luncheon. Both were OEC most valuable players.

    Standout men's soccer player Toby Waterman, who had already been named MVP of the Orange Empire Conference, is selected to the All-Southern California and All-State Teams. Waterman ranked second in the state in goals.
