No. 6 Story of the Year - Legendary IVC coaches/faculty retire
August 20, 2024Irvine Valley's Ted Weatherford, Julie Hanks and Jerry Hernandez retired as coaches and teachers at the end of this past spring and each will be missed. All three were part of the Irvine Valley family for more than 25 years. -

July 18, 2024Standout sophomore Emily Freeman is headed to NCAA Division II Alaska Fairbanks. Freeman averaged 9.1 points per game and led IVC with 69 made three-pointers. She was also named Irvine Valley's scholar athlete of the year. -
Women's basketball is Irvine Valley's Scholar Team of the Year
June 28, 2024Irvine Valley's women's basketball team has been named the 2023-24 scholar team of the year as part of IVC's 25th Annual Athletics Awards. The Lasers were stars on and off the court and finished with a record of 21-8 overall. -
Basketball standout Makena Tomlinson off to St. Edward's
June 27, 2024Irvine Valley's MVP this past season Makena Tomlinson is headed to NCAA Division II St. Edwards in Austin, Tex. The sophomore post player, who helped the Lasers go 21-8 overall, was also named all-conference and all-state. -
IVC's scholar athletes of the year are Freeman and Granzow
June 24, 2024Standout women's basketball player Emily Freeman and star men's soccer player Lennart Granzow have been named the Exchange Club of Irvine's scholar athletes of the year for Irvine Valley for the 2023-24 school year. -

June 21, 2024Sophomore basketball stars Emily Freeman and Roman Swizek have been named Irvine Valley's female and male Character Champions of the Year for their service, being exceptional student-athletes and their play on the court. -
Claire Gocke named women's basketball coach at Irvine Valley
May 31, 2024Irvine Valley is excited to announce Claire Gocke as the new women's basketball coach. Gocke has spent the last 12 years as the head coach at Tustin High. She won an impressive 211 games and captured four Empire League titles. -
Legendary women's basketball coach Julie Hanks, retires
May 06, 2024Former Irvine Valley women's basketball coach Julie Hanks, who stepped down after the 2021-22 season, recently celebrated her retirement from also being a faculty member at IVC. She finished with 440 wins at IVC. -
Basketball player Makena Tomlinson named to all-state team
March 28, 2024Irvine Valley sophomore standout Makena Tomlinson was named second team all-state by the women's basketball association recently. Tomlinson averaged 12.1 points and 10.1 rebounds a game and shot 51.6 percent from the field. -
Four basketball players named all-Orange Empire Conference
March 11, 2024Irvine Valley sophomores Makena Tomlinson and Christen Ziska are named first team all-Orange Empire Conference and sophomore Emily Freeman and freshman Moka Saiki are selected to the second team. -

February 21, 2024Irvine Valley goes on the road in the second to the last game of the regular season and defeats rival Saddleback, 74-54. It moves the No. 12 in the state Lasers' record to 20-7 overall and 11-2 in the OEC. IVC plays at Riverside Friday. -

February 17, 2024Irvine Valley has its Sophomore Night Friday, celebrating five sophs and defeats Cypress, 65-49, in an Orange Empire Conference game. IVC, ranked No. 12 in the state, improves its record to 19-7 overall and 10-2 in conference. -

Irvine Valley's Kennedy Pucci makes 22-23 3C2A state honor roll
January 25, 2024Kennedy Pucci, a standout for the women's basketball team and the IVC women's scholar athlete of the year in 2022-23, has recently been named a part of the California Community College Athletic Association Honor Roll.
