August 24, 2015There has been no better athlete in the history of Irvine Valley athletics that Annie Mitchem. She was a two-time national Two-Year Player of the Year in indoor volleyball and named the overall state athlete of the year for 2014-15. -
No. 2 Story of the Year - Women's volleyball team is perfect
August 21, 2015Irvine Valley won its first ever state title last fall, beating defending champion Cabrillo in the final. IVC finished the year with a record of 27-0. It dropped just seven sets all year and had three players sign with Division 1 schools. -

August 10, 2015Sophomore women's indoor and sand volleyball state champion Kobi Pekich was named the Orange Empire Conference female Character Champion award winner in May for her thoughtful actions and leadership on and off the court. -

Coach Tom Pestolesi on USA staff for Pan American Games
July 13, 2015Irvine Valley director of volleyball and women's indoor and sand coach Tom Pestolesi is the manager for the United States men's team at the Pan American Games. The USA team plays its first match on July 17 against Puerto Rico. -
Volleyball assistant Kaleo Baxter added to staff at UC Irvine
July 09, 2015Kaleo Baxter a former star and two-time state champion on the Irvine Valley men's volleyball team and an assistant coach for the Lasers' state champion women's team last year has landed a new coaching job at UC Irvine. -
Irvine Valley College athletics places 12th in NATYCAA Cup
June 30, 2015The Lasers end up 12th in the state standings for two-year colleges. It is IVC's best-ever finish in the cup competition. Irvine Valley won state titles in women's volleyball, men's tennis and sand volleyball in 2014-15. -

June 10, 2015Sophomore setter Hailey Jones, a two-year starter for Irvine Valley, helped the Lasers go 51-2 the past two seasons and earn the program's first ever State Championship in 2014. She is also a two-time first team all-conference player. -
Women's volleyball player Marisa Doran signs with New Mexico
June 01, 2015Sophomore standout outside hitter Marisa Doran recently signed with the University of New Mexico. She helped IVC win state championships in indoor and sand volleyball this past school year and also captured a sand individual state title. -
Women's volleyball player Shaelyn Perez signs with UC San Diego
May 27, 2015Sophomore Shaelyn Perez was a part of two state titles this school year at IVC. Irvine Valley won its first-ever indoor title and then captured the inaugural sand state title. Perez was also a star off the court as a two-year scholar athlete. -

Annie Mitchem is AVCA Two-Year National Player of Year again
December 18, 2014The middle blocker led the Irvine Valley women's volleyball team to its first ever State Championship. She is just the second player in the history of the AVCA Two-Year National Player of Year award to win in back-to-back seasons. -

November 29, 2014Top-seeded Irvine Valley gets all it can handle from No. 9 Canyons in the second round of the playoffs on Saturday night at home, but pulls through with a 26-24, 25-18, 25-17 win. Annie Mitchem records 15 kills to help lead IVC.
