  • Volleyball player Alissa Blevins off to University of Providence
    July 20, 2017
    Alissa Blevins, a sophomore setter that helped Irvine Valley reach the Southern California Playoffs this past season, is headed to the University of Providence in Great Falls, Mont. Blevins averaged 7.52 assists per set last year.
  • Women's volleyball player Lucee Fitzgerald signs with UH Hilo

    Irvine Valley sophomore women's volleyball player Lucce Fitzgerald has signed with Hawaii Hilo to play indoor volleyball in the fall. She was a first team beach player and second team indoor player for the Lasers this season.
  • Former volleyball star Marisa Doran honored at New Mexico

    Marisa Doran was named to the All-Mountain West SAAC Community Service Team recently. She is a senior at the University of New Mexico. Doran was an all-state and state champion indoor and beach player at Irvine Valley.
  • Women's volleyball team ranked 12th in final state poll of year

    After upsetting MiraCosta in its final match of the regular season and then stunning Santa Barbara City in the first round of the playoffs, Irvine Valley moves up 13 spots to end up ranked No. 12 by the CCCWVCA.
  • Four women's volleyball players named to all-OEC teams

    Irvine Valley's Taira Ka'awaloa and Hailey Riden were named first team all-Orange Empire Conference and Lucee Fitzgerald and Kylie Miller were picked to the second team by coaches. IVC finished the year 15-7 overall.
  • Former IVC standout Annie Mitchem named all-Big West at Hawaii

    Annie Mitchem, who was a two-year volleyball star at Irvine Valley, was named first team all-Big West Conference this past week for Hawai'i. The Rainbow Wahine have been 17-1 with Mitchem on the court this season.
  • Women's volleyball team falls at El Camino to end season

    After upsetting Santa Barbara City in the first round of the So. Cal. Regional Playoffs, IVC can't get by El Camino in the second round on the road on Saturday night. IVC finishes the season with a record of 15-7 overall.
  • Women's volleyball team pulls off playoff upset on the road
    November 23, 2016
    Irvine Valley, seeded 14th, outlasts No. 3 Santa Barbara City in five sets Tuesday night in Santa Barbara. The Vaqueros had won their conference and lost to just one other team all season. IVC moves on to play Saturday at El Camino.
  • Women's volleyball team stuns No. 7 team in the state in five
    November 14, 2016
    Irvine Valley, ranked 22nd, takes the final two sets to beat MiraCosta, 22-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23, 18-16, in a nonconference match at home on Monday. IVC fought off two match points in the fifth set before winning.

    Irvine Valley wins its fourth Orange Empire Conference match in a row, beating Orange Coast, 25-16, 25-19, 25-15, on the road Wednesday night. Kylie Miller had seven blocks and five kills to lead the way. IVC hosts Santiago Canyon Friday.

    Irvine Valley continues its hot streak, beating Santa Ana, 25-17, 25-19, 19-25, 25-18 in an Orange Empire Conference match on the road on Wednesday. Taira Ka'awaloa shines with 18 kills and a .444 hitting percentage.

    Irvine Valley drops the first two sets, rallies to take the next two, but loses in five sets to Cypress, 25-18, 25-23, 18-25, 16-25, 15-12, in a key Orange Empire Conference match Friday at IVC. It is the Lasers' first OEC loss this year.
  • Volleyball team sweeps Santiago Canyon, gears up for Cypress

    Irvine Valley, ranked 22nd in the state, wins its second straight match to open Orange Empire Conference play. The Lasers beat Santiago Canyon, 25-14, 25-12, 25-10. IVC takes on eighth-ranked Cypress at home on Friday.

    September 19, 2016
    Irvine Valley fell three spots in the California Community College Athletics Women's Volleyball Coaches Association rankings this week. The Lasers swept Palomar and then beat Orange Coast in four sets in its OEC opener last week.
  • Women's volleyball team looks solid in conference opener

    Irvine Valley beats Orange Coast, 25-18, 25-22, 16-25, 25-13, on Friday at home in the Orange Empire Conference opener. Taira Ka'awaloa, Juju Cannon and Alissa Blevins lead the Lasers, who win their second straight match.
  • Women's volleyball team sweeps at Palomar for second win
    September 14, 2016
    Irvine Valley defeats Palomar, 25-17, 25-17, 25-12, on the road in a nonconference match on Tuesday night. IVC, which was led by Taira Ka'awaloa's 12 kills and 11 digs, plays again on Friday, hosting Orange Coast at 6 p.m.
  • Women's volleyball team ranked 19th in state in first poll
    September 13, 2016
    Irvine Valley comes in at No. 19 in the first state poll, which was put out on Monday. The Lasers are also ranked 11th in Southern California. IVC plays at Palomar Tuesday night and then hosts Orange Coast on Friday to open conference.
  • Women's volleyball team suffers first loss of the year
    September 09, 2016
    Irvine Valley wins the first set, but then drops the next three in a 26-28, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 defeat to College of the Canyons on the road on Wednesday night. Freshman Taira Ka'awaloa led the way for IVC with 18 kills and 19 digs.
