Irvine Valley sophomore goalkeeper Josh Simonton has committed to NCAA Division III University of La Verne.
Simonton started for the Lasers most of his two years in the program.
IVC ended with a record of 8-12-1 overall and 6-7-1 in the Orange Empire Conference in the fall of 2024.
Simonton played in 15 matches and started 11 contests in goal.
He finished with a 2.31 goals against average per game and ended with a team-high 44 saves.
Simonton had two shutouts on the year.
In the 2023 season, Simonton played in 17 matches and started in 14.
He had a 1.50 goals against average and made 58 saves for an IVC team that went 12-4-6 overall and 7-1-6 in conference and made the So. Cal. Regional Playoffs.
Simonton, out of Chino Hils High, is headed to a La Verne program that finished with a record of 6-12-1 overall last fall.
