Baseball team falls to Fullerton, 11-1, at home on Thursday

The Irvine Valley baseball team's series with Fullerton is now knotted up at one game apiece after the Lasers lost to Fullerton, 11-1, Thursday afternoon at home.

Irvine Valley's record went to 14-19 overall and 1-13 in the Orange Empire Conference. 

Fullerton improved to 16-17 overall and 6-8 in conference.

The Hornets broke the game open by scoring two runs in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to take a 6-0 lead.

Irvine Valley scored its lone run in the bottom of the eigthth when freshman center fielder Sam Tucci scored on a wild pitch.

Sophomore first baseman Jackson Snitko and Tucci each finished with two hits for the Lasers.

Fullerton was led by Erik Polanco, who went 2 for 6 with two runs, a home run and four RBI. Luke Viola and Hunter Billingsley each also drove in two runs for the Hornets.

The series finishes up on Friday at Fullerton at 1 p.m.
