Women's flag football enters the rankings at No. 8 after win

Irvine Valley's flag football team started its 2026 season on Saturday with a 28-12 win at home over four-year Simpson University.

And with that, IVC was ranked No. 8 in this week's edition of the Women's College Flag Football Power Rankings.

The top eight are Emmanuel, Lees-McRae, Saddleback, Brewton Parker, Hope International, La Sierra, Grand Canyon and Irvine Valley.

Two other Orange Empire Conference teams are also in the mix with Golden West at No. 9 and Cypress at No. 11.

IVC travels to No. 17 Redlands University Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. and then play at Cal Lutheran at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Lasers, under second-year coach Sami Logan, are looking to make even more strives this season. Irvine Valley finished with a record of 11-3 in its first season in 2025.
