The 17-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-23 defeat dropped Irvine Valley's record to 0-2 in the 2025 season.
The Lasers play next at Santa Monica on Friday at noon.
Wednesday night, Irvine Valley started strong, taking the first set, 25-17.
IVC hit .308 in the first set as a team.
But Canyons took over after that, winning three sets in a row for the win.
Irvine Valley was led by sophomore outside hitter Alya Mersin, who finished with 10 kills and nine digs.
Freshman setter Dalilah Rivero added nine kills, 16 assists and eight digs and freshman outside hitter Emma Mendel had eight kills and seven digs.
Freshman setter Tori Esko chipped in six kills, 16 assists and two digs for the Lasers.
