Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team improved its record to 1-1 overall and earned its first victory of the 2026 season with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 win over Antelope Valley on Friday night at home.
The Lasers hit an impressive .418 in the match.
The team was led by freshman outside hitter Conor Engelbrecht, who finished with 12 kills and hit .733 on the night.
Freshman outside hitter Kaarin Shiari added eight kills and hit .700 and freshman outside hitter Christian Wilkinson contributed seven kills and hit .417.
Freshman setters Ryan Surh and Isiah Sibbitt ran the offense. Sibbit ended with 19 assists and three aces and Surh had 12 assists and two aces.
Freshman libero Sirr Lobban chipped in six digs and sophomore libero Cage Gonzalez finished with five digs and two assists.
Antelope Valley hit just .029 on the evening.
The Lasers play again on Tuesday at Santa Barbara City at 2 p.m. The match will take place at UC Santa Barbara.
