Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team lost its second key match in a row, falling in five sets to San Diego Miramar on Wednesday night at home.
The two teams went into the match-up with conference records of 1-1.
Miramar, after a 16-14 win in the fifth set on Wednesday, is now at 2-1.
Irvine Valley's record fell to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in conference.
Miramar pulled out the five set win, 22-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-20, 16-14.
Irvine Valley had its moments in the match, hitting .310 in the opening set as a team and then .333 in the third set in the two frames it captured.
But the Lasers only hit .171 (43-24-111) on the night as a team.
Irvine Valley was led by freshman outside hitter Christian Wilkinson, who had 10 kills and nine digs.
Sophomore libero Cage Gonzalez added 15 digs and freshman setter Isiah Isbitt finished with 36 assists and six digs.
Irvine Valley plays again in another conference match on Friday at Grossmont at 6 p.m.
