Irvine Valley's men's tennis team secured another outright Orange Empire Conference title with a 9-0 win over Orange Coast Tuesday at home.
The Lasers finished the regular season with a record of 10-1 overall and 8-0 in conference.
Irvine Valley next competes in the OEC tournament to decide singles and doubles players that move on to the state event. The conference tournament is at Fullerton next Thursday and Friday.
The seedings for the playoffs will also be selected next week with IVC, which is the defending state champion expected to be No. 1 in So. Cal.
Against Orange Coast on Tuesday, IVC cruised.
The Lasers won all three doubles matches and then took all six of the singles matches in straight sets.
IVC lost just five games in doubles among the teams of freshman Humam Alajeely and sophomore Nevin McCann, freshman Richard Petery and sophomore Jonathan Hinkel and freshman Paul Herrschelmann and freshman Ruben Dam.
Singles players, including McCann, sophomore Bradley Yung, Hinkel, sophomore Sam Shakiba, Dam and sophomore Kazuyuki Ohya gave up a total of 18 games in straight-set wins.
McCann won, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and Ohya came through with a 6-1, 6-0 victory on the sixth court to shine for the Lasers.
