Irvine Vallley's men's tennis team will go after its second straight 3C2A State Dual title after defeating Glendale at home in a regional final on Saturday at home.
The championship match will be played on Wednesday, Apr. 22 at Ventura College at 10 a.m.
The Lasers, seeded first in SoCal, take on Foothill, the No. 2 team from the North.
The two teams also faced off in the state final last year with IVC coming out on top, 5-1.
Irvine Valley advanced the state championship match with a 5-0 victory over Glendale on Saturday afternoon.
IVC captured all three doubles matches and then two singles contests in a row for the overall victory.
The Lasers improved their record to 13-1 overall. And that one loss was to a four-year school.
On Saturday, IVC's top doubles team of freshmen Philip Neuman and Steven Anderson won, 8-6, the Nol. 2 duo of freshman Humam Alajeely and sophomore Nevin McCann cruised, 8-2, and the third team of freshman Richard Petery and Jonnathan Hinkel won, 8-6.
Alajeely moved Irvine Valley to within one match of the victory with a 6-0, 6-1 trimph on the fourth court and Neuman closed things out with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.
