Former Irvine Valley standout first baseman Jackson Snitko had a solid season at NCAA Division II Chico State.
The Wildcats finished with a record of 26-24 overall and went 15-17 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Chico State closed out the 2026 regular season on a high note May 2, defeating Cal State East Bay 7–3 at Pioneer Field to secure a road series win.
The squad placed sixth in the standings and just missed out on the CCAA Tournament.
Snitko, a junior out of Beckman High, batted .292 on the year. He played in 49 games and started 40 contests.
He finished with 40 hits, nine doubles, 24 runs, 24 RBI, 19 walks, 49 total bases and had a .358 slugging percentage.
Snitko had 10 multi-hit games, including three contests with three hits.
He was a big contributor at IVC in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
As a freshman in 2024, he batted .301 with 43 hits, two home runs, 17 RBI, 18 walks and a .406 slugging percentage.
Snitko played in 38 games on the year.
He was even better in 2025, batting .291, and finishing with 39 hits, 12 doubles, one home run, 23 runs, a solid 36 walks and an incredible .437 on base percentage.
Snitko also had a .403 slugging percentage for the Lasers, who finished with a record of 16-24 overall in 2025.
He had 10 games with at least two hits, including going a season-best 4 for 6 with two runs, two doubles, one home run and three RBI in IVC's win at San Diego Mesa on Feb. 20.
Snitko was second on the team this past season in batting average, third in RBI and runs and first in walks.
He will be playing summer ball with the Decatur Bean Ballers in Illinois this summer.
