Irvine Valley's baseball team defeated Fullerton, 5-3, in the final game of the three-game Orange Empire Conference set at Irvine Valley on Friday afternoon.
IVC picked up its second win in OEC play and moved its record to 17-14 overall.
Freshman left-handed pitcher Luke Acuna was sharp in relief to earn the victory for the Lasers.
He followed up a solid start by sophomore righty Lucas Scott.
Scott went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Acuna entered in the fifth inning and went the next 4.1 innings, allowing just one run on two hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
IVC trailed, 3-0, after the top of the sixth inning, but scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to get close and then came through with three runs in the seventh to take control.
In the sixth inning, an error by Fullerton allowed IVC's first run to score and then sophomore third basman Jake Amundson put down a perfect bunt to bring in Scott from third base to get IVC within, 3-2.
And in the seventh inning for Irvine Valley, freshman right fielder John Uchytil hit a triple to to score freshman second baseman Adrian Covarrubias and tie the game at 3-3.
Scott followed with a RBI single to put the Lasers ahead and Aimer hit a run-scoring single to center to give IVC a 5-3 advantage.
Uchytil, Scott and Aimer had two hits each for IVC.
The Lasers play again next Tuesday, hosting Golden West at 2 p.m.
