Irvine Valley's baseball team keeps winning.
The Lasers captured their eight straight victory to start the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon at home.
Irvine Valley scored 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game out of reach and won going away, 20-2, over Cerro Coso.
IVC defeated the Coyotes, 14-7, in the first game of the two-contest set on Friday.
The 11 runs in the fifth frame on Saturday was a season-high for an inning on the year for IVC.
Irvine Valley has now out-scored opponents, 99-25, through its first eight games of 2026.
Irvine Valley led, 2-0, after the first two innings on RBI doubles by freshman catcher Shane Flynn and freshman second baseman Adrian Covarrubias.
But IVC received solid production throughout the lineup on the day.
When the Lasers put the game away in the fifth inning, they sent 16 players to the plate.
Irvine Valley was led by sophomore outfielder Sam Tucci, who went 3 for 3 with a double and a walk, three runs scored and three RBI.
Sophomore center fielder Brandon Abernathy added two hits, going 2 for 4 with a walk, three runs scored and three RBI.
Jackson Chastain, a sophomore left-hander, improved his record to 3-0 on the year with another solid outing on the bump.
Chastain went five innings and gave up two runs on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
The Lasers used a bullpen of sophomore Andres Hernandez, sophomore Casey Coady, freshman Fausto Aguirre and freshman Robert Hernandez for scoreless innings apiece to finish the win off.
They each pitched a scoreless inning.
The 8-0 Lasers take on Ventura on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
IVC defeated the Pirates, 6-4, earlier this week on the road.
