Irvine Valley's baseball team captured the first game of the Orange Empire Conference series against Golden West on Tuesday at home, 15-11.
But the Rustlers bounced back by winning the final two games of the series, 9-2, at Golden West on Thursday and then, 7-3, back at IVC on Friday.
Irvine Valley's record went to 18-16 overall and 3-12 in conference, Golden West improved to 16-18 overall and 3-12 in the OEC.
The Lasers held a 2-1 lead through the first two innings of Thursday's contest.
Sophomore third baseman Lucas Scott hit an RBI single in the first inning and freshman first baseman Jacob Ceja added an RBI hit in the top of the second.
But that was the only scoring of the day for IVC.
Golden West scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead for good.
The big blow was a three-run home run by Nick Nashiwa.
For Irvine Valley, Ceja went 2 for 4 with a run scored and one RBI.
Sophomore left-hander Jackson Chastain took the loss on the mound. He gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and one walk with seven strikeouts.
In Friday's contest, it was Golden West that took the early lead.
The Rustlers led, 4-1, after three innings.
Irvine Valley pulled within 4-3 with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. An error by Golden West allowed sophomore third baseman Jake Amundson and freshman left fielder Kaden Aimer to score.
But the Rustlers gave themselves some breathing room with a run in the top of the sixth inning and two more in the seventh.
Golden West pitchers limited Irvine Valley to just three hits on the afternoon.
Freshman left-hander Luke Acuna suffered the loss to move his record to 3-3 overall.
He gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 2.2 innings.
The Lasers are back at it again with a three-game set against Santa Ana. The Lasers start on Tuesday at Santa Ana at 2 p.m.
