Irvine Valley's men's basketball team went on the road and captured back-to-back wins over the weekend.
IVC defeated MiraCosta, 67-55, Friday, and then turned around and earned another victory, 69-66, at Los Angeles City on Saturday night.
Irvine Valley is off to a fast 4-1 start overall.
The Lasers play next at Mt. San Jacinto on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Against MiraCosta, sophomore post player Matt Mowers finished with 17 points and five rebounds. He shot 8 of 12 from the field.
Sophomore wing Garrett Trayer was also in double figures for the Lasers, finishing with 12 points and five rebounds in the win.
Irvine Valley shot 47.2 percent (25 of 53) from the field as a team, but the Lasers held MiraCosta to just 38.8 percent (19 of 49) from the field as a team. MiraCosta also just made 10 of 23 free throws in the game.
IVC bounced back with another solid win on Saturday, taking down LA City.
The Lasers out-scored Los Angeles City, 43-37, in the second half for the win.
Irvine Valley was paced by freshman guard Ahmad Alhammouri with 12 points on 4 of 7 shooting from the field.
Freshman wing Tyler Harris contributed 11 points and seven rebounds and Trayer added 10 points for IVC in the fourth win of the season.
