Irvine Valley sophomore men's basketball player Ben Starks is headed to NCAA Division II Western Oregon University.
Starks, who did not suit up this year for the Lasers because of an injury and instead red-shirted, is a 7-0 post player with length and touch around the rim.
He started the season with Irvine Valley during the 2024-25 season before the injury.
Starks, out of San Clemente High, has been working hard to get back on the court.
He played in 19 games, shot 55.6 percent from the floor and averaged 3.9 rebounds a contest in 2024-25 campaign.
Starks best game two seasons ago took place in the Monterey Peninsula Tournament when he finished with 10 points and three rebounds in IVC's 80-66 win.
He also seven contests with at least five rebounds, including two games with nine boards.
Western Oregon had a record of 9-18 overall last season and competes in the Great Northwestern Athletic Conference.
