Women's basketball team moves up two spots in state RPI

Irvine Valley's women's basketball team moved up two spots in the latest RPI in the state.

The Lasers, with a record of 12-4 overall and 1-1 in the Orange Empire Conference, moved from No. 10 to No. 8 in this week's calculation.

Irvine Valley went 1-1 last week, but played against two solid and ranked teams.

IVC defeated state No. 8 ranked Cypress, 51-49, at home on Wednesday before falling at No. 22 Saddleback, 68-61 in overtime in Orange Empire Conference action.

The Lasers are also now fourth in So. Cal.

Irvine Valley has a bye on Wednesday from OEC action, and then has another important game, traveling to No. 3 Orange Coast on Friday at 7 p.m. for conference contest.
