Irvine Valley's women's basketball team captured at least a share of the Orange Empire Conference with a 57-47 victory over Santa Ana on the road Wednesday night.
The Lasers improved their record to 23-4 overall and 9-2 in conference.
IVC, ranked No. 7 in the state and sitting at the sixth spot in the latest RPI standings in the CCC2A, finish the regular season Friday at Fullerton at 7 p.m.
Irvine Valley won each of the first three quarters at Santa Ana on Wednesday to take command.
The Lasers led, 23-18, at the half, but their biggest quarter was in the third.
IVC out-scored the Dons, 22-12, to take a 45-30 advantage.
Irvine Valley shot 58.3 percent as a team in the third period, led by star sophomore guard Symantha Barrnett, who scored an amazing 14 points.
She ended up leading the team on the night with 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
IVC sophomore wing Alexis Price contributed a double-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds and added one steal and two blocks.
Freshman guard Lexy Gallegos chipped in six points and three assists and sophomore forward Kivonni Williams had five points and four rebounds for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley can win the conference outright, under second-year head coach Claire Gocke on Friday at Fullerton.
