Irvine Valley's women's basketball team pulled out a 65-58 victory over Rio Hondo at El Camino as part of the El Camino Crossover event.
It was IVC's second win in a row and the Lasers moved their record to 6-1 overall.
Irvine Valley led, 18-11, after the first quarter and played a strong third quarter (another 18-11 advantage) to help close out the victory.
The Lasers shot 47.4 percent (27 of 57) from the field as a team in the game.
IVC was out-rebounded, 48-34, but turned the Roadrunners over 17 times and helped hold Rio Hondo to just 30.8 percent shooting from the floor.
Sophomore wing Kivonni Williams led the Lasers with 14 points, six rebounds and three steals.
And sophomore guard Symantha Barnett had 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Irvine Valley's third player in double-figure scoring was sophomore forward Neryah Lokeni with 10 points. She also contributed four rebounds and two steals.
Freshman guard Lexy Gallegos, sophomore forward Alexis Price sophomore forward Gianna DeForest each chipped in eight points for IVC.
Price also added six rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocks.
Irvine Valley plays again on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Mt. San Jacinto Crossover.
