Irvine Valley's women's basketball team scored its 10th victory in its last 11 games and closed out the Ventura crossover with a 65-39 win over Oxnard on Saturday night at Ventura.
IVC, ranked No. 10 in the state in the latest coaches poll, improved its record to 14-2 overall.
The Lasers have the rest of the holiday break off from action and will host Cypress on Jan. 7, 2026 to start Orange Empire Conference play at 7 p.m.
IVC was led by freshman guard Lexy Gallegos, who had a season-high 15 points.
She went 6 of 13 from the field and made three three-pointers. Gallegos added six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Irvine Valley also received 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals from sophomore guard Symantha Barnett.
Sophomore wing Kivonni Williams and freshman guard Andrea Castillo each contributed eight points with Williams also finishing with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
And sophomore forward Alexis Price had seven points, six rebounds and two assists for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley led, 16-7, after the first quarter and, 35-20, at the half.
IVC closed out the game by out-scoring Oxnard, 14-5, in the fourth quarter.
