After winning its first match of the season on Tuesday at Southwestern, the Irvine Valley men's soccer team never let up in another solid victory.
The Lasers scored six goals and had several other great chances in a 6-0 win over San Diego Mesa at home on Friday.
Irvine Valley moved its record to 2-3-0 overall on the season.
The next game for IVC is at Rio Hondo on Friday, Sept. 19.
On Friday in the shutout win, Irvine Valley received goals from freshman Andrew Roldan (2), sophomore forward Finn Monk, sophomore forward Isaac Nixon, sophomore forward Armin Tehrani and freshman forward Drew Payne.
The Lasers out-shot Mesa, 24-3, on the afternoon.
Payne wrapped up the match in the final minutes with a penalty kick goal after freshman midfielder Ethan Ro was taken down in the box.
Irvine Valley started the contest with a goal in the 17th minute on a header goal by Monk on a cross by sophomore midfielder Yahya Alsadeq.
And it was 2-0 for IVC seven minutes later when Roldan scored inside the box off of an cross assist by Tehrani.
Irvine Valley rolled from there.
Nixon scored in the 46th minute just before the first half ended.
Alsadeq knocked a shot in three minutes into the second half to make it a 4-0 game.
Tehrani scored the best goal of the contest for IVC on a flying volley kick in the 63rd minute from a ball sent on by freshman midfielder Cade Williams.
And Payne finished the scoring for the Lasers with the penalty kick.
Freshmen Keven Rafael and Sansiro Murata each played one half in goal for the Lasers and made one save each.
