Alumni Report: Marcio Costa shines at NCAA Division II Eckerd

Former Irvine Valley men's soccer player and striker Marcio Costa had a fine season at NCAA Division II Eckerd College in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The junior out of Canisianum in Luedinghausen, Germany played in 14 matches and started 13 contests.

He finished the fall season with five goals and one assist for 11 points.

Two of his goals were completed on penalty kicks.

The 6-2 forward played a big role for Irvine Valley in the 2024 fall season.

He started 12 matches and ended the year with eight goals and two assists for 18 points. 

Costa also contributed two game-winning goals.

Costa scored the game winners at Santiago Canyon on Oct. 15, 2024 (3-1 victory) and at home against Santiago Canyon on Nov. 8, 2024 (another 3-1 win over the Hawks).

He ranked second on the team in goals and points on the year.

Irvine Valley finished with a record of 8-12-1 overall and 6-7-1 in the Orange Empire Conference.
