Former Irvine Valley men's soccer standout Lennart Granzow stood out in a big way in his first year playing for UNC Asheville.
He was named 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, picked to the 2025 Big South Conference All-Academic Team and to the 2025 Big South All-Conference first team.
Granzow also recently earned newcomer of the year for the UNC Asheville program.
The 6-5 junior defender from Germany appeared in 15 matches, making 12 starts in his first season in Asheville.
He scored three goals for six points on the year and totaled 11 shots.
Granzow scored his first goal of the season at East Tennessee State (Sept. 16), scored a goal against Radford (Sept. 27), and scored a goal at Winthrop on Oct. 25
He totaled 1,158 minutes on the pitch, including playing all 90 minutes in 12 straight matches to end the season.
Prior to Asheville, Granzow was selected to the all-state team, all-West Region and picked as a second team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association.
Granzow helped lead Irvine Valley to a 12-4-6 record overall and a 7-1-6 mark in conference in the fall of 2023. The Lasers made the 3C2A playoffs and reached the So. Cal. Regional Final.
He was also named the 2023 Orange Empire Conference Defensive MVP and a first team all-conference player in 2022 and 2023.
Granzow was also selected at Irvine Valley's male scholar athlete of the year in 2022.
