Former Irvine Valley men's soccer player Jonas Foppen, who played at Division II Benedictine University in Arizona, is now off to Stanton University in Anaheim.
Foppen, from the Netherlands, competed in 24 matches over two seasons at Irvine Valley and started in six contests over the 2023 and 2024 campaigns.
The midfielder helped the Laser team go 12-4-6 overall and 7-1-6 in Orange Empire Conference play during the 2023 season and make the playoffs.
He was then part of an IVC team that went 8-12-1 overall and 6-7-1 in the conference in 2024.
Foppen played in 15 matches and made four starts in the midfield for the Redhawks at Benedictine last year.
He finished with one goal and one assist for three points.
The Benedictine squad ended with a record of 10-5-5 overall and 6-3-4 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
The Redhawks reached the second round of the GSAC tournament this past season.
