Irvine Valley standout men's soccer player Ethan Kofi-Adu-Gyamfi is headed to UC Merced.
The sophomore defender recently committed to the NCAA Division II college and will receive a full scholarship according to IVC head coach Conor Ward.
Kofi-Adu-Gyamfi, who finished with two goals and one assist for five points for the Lasers this past season, was named first team all-Orange Empire Conference.
He was one of six players to be named first team all-OEC for the Lasers.
He helped lead Irvine Valley to a 13-8-1 record overall and a conference title with a mark of 10-3-1. The Lasers also made the SoCal Regional Playoffs.
Kofi-Adu-Gyanfi is from University Prep High School in Victorville.
In his two years at IVC, Kofi-Adu-Gyamfi played in 35 matches and started 20 contests overall.
He is headed to a UC Merced team that ended with a record of 3-10-3 overall this past season in its first year at the Division II level.
